Default Collector's Edition Items - Restrictions, etc.

I'm relatively new to the Guild Wars scene, though I'd like to think that I'm learning pretty quickly. I've managed to figure out most things without much help, but there's one thing that stumps me. Having bought it recently, I purchased the collector's edition, as it cost the same, but came with a few items on the side. Though these items seem to be more trouble than they are worth.

First, I found out (by searching) that one can add these items to your account with the "/bonusitems" command, which I had no trouble doing. I got all the items, and am still using the the Nevermore Flatbow to this day (give me a break, I just started).

Now I have a few questions about them...
  1. I tried using a Sundering Bow String that I found on the Nevermore Bow to give me the armor penetration modifier. However, whenever I try doing so, I get the error "The upgrade is incompatible with that component," or something along those lines. I'm not entirely sure why this happened, and I couldn't find anything by searching. Is it just because these free items are unmodifiable, or am I doing something wrong?
  2. A lot of stuff that I got I know that I will not use on the character that they are customized for. How exactly do I get rid of those items? Trading them did not work, dropping them (in and out of outposts) did not work, and selling them didn't work either. They're taking up valuable storage space right now, and I'm at a loss as to how to get rid of them. How does one get rid of these items?
  3. Finally, if I do get rid of these items, will I be able to obtain them again by using the "/bonusitems" command a second time?

Thanks in advance!

1) Any mods already on them cannot be changed. Like the "poisonous" on the Nevermore flatbow. You CAN however add the other side mod to them. Like you COULD add a of fortitude bowgrip just fine to it. (BTW, never use Sundering..by reading these eforums for a few minutes, you'll realize its not a good mod at all, and its pretty much hated by all that are "in the know")

2) There is a Trash Bin icon in your inventory. Drag the item over it and click yes on the confirmation screen to delete it. (Don't worry, I played the game for 2 months and didnt notice that Trashcan..)

3) Yes, it is just as easy as typing "/bonusitems" again. No worries.

Thanks a lot for your help. By reading the forums, I was under the impression that trying to apply another prefix to a bow that already has one will "override" the existing one. Oh well, live and learn.

Appreciate it!

This does NOT go to the preorders. They can be modded freely.
